Anyone planning on attending any fireworks shows tonight in celebration of the 4th of July?

Many places are cutting out their fireworks displays due to the bad economy:

I think I'll just stay home and watch them on TV, lol. :D

There's a display here, but I'm not going. Just...not interested. I'm just going to stay home, probably play games (feel a weird urge for giant monster destruction for some reason...hello, War of the Monsters and/or Rampage...) and crack open a bottle of raspberry lambic. My parents are going, though.

We never really had excellent fire works here. They normally only last from 10-15 minutes and they aren't anything special. But since I love fireworks, and live right across the street, I'll always be there to watch. :D Next year I'll be in the Mid west and get to see one of Grucci's fireworks shows since I hear they are one of the best in the country ^^

A few people in the neighborhood shot off fireworks, but I didn't try to watch them. I just wasn't in the mood yesterday. I've never seen a big display in person because until recently fireworks were completely illegal here.

I've never cared about Fireworks. Sure some are definitely nice to look at but so much work goes in to just have something fly in the air, really doesn't appeal to me. Plus, more often than not, things seem to go awry and someone gets hurt. I read a story that a fireworks truck exploded, killing the driver, due to the fireworks going off inside the vehicle. I guess I don't see the need to die over some pretty colors.
