I've been shut down more than once because of that

that's a common problem here

the answer is: you have to know someone in a good place

Thing is, all the people I know that are in a good place, their boss is either not hiring or their boss isn't hiring

Don't get me started on the selection processes some places use. I'll enver forget when I when I went for a 2 week job over christmas back in my high school days ><

It was just for stacking shelves in a supermarket for some extra cash. Nothing special. I filled out a form and then got called to some ridiculous selection meeting with the other applicants.

All I remember was having to describe myself to people and then do some sort of magic trick. Don't ask. PLEASE!

i had an English student who was asked to tell jokes in an interview for a scholarship to study abroad

Yeah, I wish I'd made myself disappear.

But seriously, I find that all big companies and such have the more ridiculous processess, bar the military. When I did that every step was actually relevant to the job

Small places, no, it's a simpler thing, thankfully

Just work at a gas station

But yeah... I need to start getting ready for my interview which is in about 15-20 minutes

Well, I'm gonna go now and get ready to walk to the interview
