Who should buy YAHOO!

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Mon Feb 4, '08, 6:54 pm

News reports say that Microsoft may be trying to buy YAHOO, but wait a minute, GOOGLE may be interested as well, so who do you think should buy YAHOO?

I don't care either way -- don't like it too much anymore and I hardly use it.

Google probably has the most to gain, seeing as how they wish to completely dominate the search-engine scene, so I'll go with them.

I don't care. I do think they should keep the yahoo name whoever buys it.

I bet google could win. lol But I haven't ever even seen the yahoo page, I don't use it. So it probably won't make a huge difference.
Everything has a pattern. Something set. Even random things. They aren't random at all, its complex mathematics. The trick is to find the pattern. Then you can exploit it.

People think things have a certain end. Taxes. Work. Due dates don't really exist. Trust me. When you put a band of world scholars in the same room, and set them on talking about anything, the most interesting topics come up. The existence of negative time. The probability of "random occurrence". The government's involvement in the media. And falsified due dates. They aren't real, trust me....

I doubt either will be allowed to buy Yahoo. It would raise anti-trust issues, since both Google and Microsoft have their own major search engines and other similar operations already. But with that said, if one of them has to buy it, I'd rather see Google get it. I have a feeling they would make better use of Yahoo's resources.

It's kind of funny. A few years ago, Yahoo was buying other companies up left and right. Now they're finally on that chopping block themselves.

Well, surprise - surprise, this morning I heard on the news that Yahoo has TURNED DOWN Microsoft's offer to buy them. 8) I heard the reason why was because after thinking about it, Yahoo decided they are worth a lot more than the already very generous offer that Microsoft made them, and upped the going price even more.

So, it will be interesting to see where this leads to from here. :yaknow:

It looks like News Corp (parent company of Fox News Channel, I think) is trying to get into the act with Yahoo as well:
