Phantasy Star: Fringes of Algo

Actor Jackie Chan, famous for his magnificent action and martial arts movies, has announced his retirement from action films. He will still be involved in other types of films and acting projects.

This is a sad day as he is a wonderful action film star, but I guess it is to be expected as all these movie stars get older and can not keep up that high level of activity.

Perhaps trying other various roles will give him a chance to shine in some other types of movies. From what I've seen in some of his past movies, he has a great sense of humor and that should be very helpful to him ahead also.

Anyone have a favorite Jackie Chan movie???

If Jackie Chan really wanted to continue making action movies, he could. He has famously performed his own stunts in the past, but a younger man could be hired to do some of the heavy stunt work. I suspect that the desire to try working in other roles is the driving motivation here. Several actors who made their careers in action movies have expressed that thought in the past. Most of them, if they stayed in acting, would up right back in the action movies after a few films.

Yeah, he could probably get another stunt guy to do most of the heavy stunts, etc., but I have to wonder if his ego and his pride would let him do that. I mean he seems like a nice guy and all but let's face it, his personal stunt work in these films have really been what has made the films successful, atleast in my opinion. If he has someone else do any of the stunts for him, I don't think it will be the same some how. That's not to say that it wouldn't still work though. I wish him the best in what ever he does because he deserves it.

That is indeed a sad thing to hear

And after some months.. did he really stop to make or play in action movies ?
