The new director chosen for the movie "Iron Man 3" is Shane Black:

Anyone familiar with his work? How do you think he will do in directing this movie?

I'm a bit concerned that this is only his second film as a director. It seems he has a good record as a writer, which is great. But writing and directing can be two different things. We'll just have to see how it goes. Marvel has a good track record with their film choices so far. Hopefully this will be another in that category.

"Iron Man 3" will have a lot of ties to China it seems:

Good to have a "new director" : maybe a good thing to have a sort of new vision after two first episodes.
And the tie to China is a good thing to : overture !!!

Found a snippet of info regarding a villian in the upcoming "Iron Man 3" movie. Take a look at the Iron Patriot here:

I didn't know they were filming this movie in North Carolina. That's interesting!! For some reason with all the talk of China and ties to this movie I guess I figured filming would mostly be done elsewhere other than in the USA.

I'm surprised they are able to use Iron Patriot in this movie. In the comics, the man in that armor is Norman Osborn - better known as the Green Goblin, who was in the Spider-Man movies. The rights to Osborn are tied up with the Spidey movie deal over at Sony, so I would have thought Marvel wouldn't be able to use Iron Patriot. They must be working around it by putting someone else in the suit.

An accident for actor Robert Downey, Jr., on the set of "Iron Man 3" has caused a slight delay in making the movie:

Wishes for a speedy recovery to him.

At least it was only a minor injury. Hurting the ankle is always painful, if you ask me, but it sounds like he is expected to recover with no problems.

New toys for "Iron Man 3" have been seen and they prove very interesting as far as the movie may go:

Huh, well that's a color scheme for Iron Man that I don't think I've ever seen before now. Even in the comics, I don't recall a case where it had that much white. I wonder how it'll look on the "real" suit.
