In the UK, there is a cat who lost part of both his rear legs to an accident. A new type of operation was recently performed to give the cat prosthetic limbs. What's amazing is that this operation involved inserting metal pegs into the cat's legs, something never done before without causing infections around the inserted pieces. Essentially, the operation makes this kitty the world's first cyborg cat.
With prosthetic feet attached to the pegs, the cat, who would have been put down if not for this operation, is now able to walk and run around normally. Have a look at these reports on it:
