This looks awesome! So many characters from the first movie is good! I can't wait to see this.

Has anyone seen this movie yet? I hope it is as good, or better, than the original. I don't think it could be as good as the original because that movie was awesome, but I hope this new movie does not disappoint. I am really starting to worry though as I am a big fan of the original "Independence Day" movie and have been looking forward to this sequel, however, several of the reviews I have read about the sequel seem to infer that the movie is not very good. I hope the critics are wrong on this one.

I think this movie is out now on DVD. Might make a good Christmas present as I still have not seen it yet. Has anyone else seen it yet?

Finally got around to watching this movie as we got the DVD for Christmas! In my opinion, it is not as good as the original "Independence Day" movie, however, it was pretty good. It was a bit boring in some places but got to moving better closer to the end. It was good to see some of the original cast back, Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, Bill Pullman, Brent Spiner, Judd Hirsch, etc., and some of the new characters were very good.

Oh, and I noticed during the credits it was done in memorium of actor Robert Loggia who passed away not to long along.

Anyone else have any opinions on this movie?

Planning on watching my "Independence Day" movie DVD's sometime today on this July 4th. Love the original movie, and although the sequel is a bit lacking, it is still pretty good too.

A July 4th tradition is watching these movies again each year! Saw some of Resurgence (The 2nd movie) on TV yesterday.

Interesting article on the Independence Day movies:
