Image of the Day

Yeah, these guys always bugged me, too. They reminded me of the scene in the Gremlins movie, when the little furry guy gets wet and those things start growing on his back. I half expected the bulbs on these monsters to burst and throw out some other monsters.

Those things are just screaming to be stepped on!

I'm running late again today, so I'll do another double update. I spent too much time being lost in Generation 1 today.

Speaking of which, Thursday and Friday's Images of the Day are both scenes from Phantasy Star: Generation 1. I thought you might like a change of pace from the PSIV stuff.

First, we have poor Odin in "Cold as Stone":


And next is Lutz as a "Stylin' Esper" to the right. This is actually a partial compilation image. The scene fades in near the bottom of his robe and scrolls up to his face. The image is actually missing a small amount of the bottom of this because he was translucent during the fade in. Another scene was showing through him.

Oh wow! Very nice! Too bad there will not be a US release any time soon! =/

Odin's hair looks goofy to me -- doesn't fit 'im, in my opinion.

Now, Lutz looks very feminine in that pose...

Yes, I thought so, too. They really captured the "pretty boy" look that he was intended to have. It's also the most elaborate intro of any of the characters.

I for one, prefer Odin's hair like that... better than the crew cut he had before IIRC..

Wow, Lutz lost his white robes..

He puts the white robes on a couple of scenes later, though it's more like a cloak in this version. He doesn't wear them in the same way as before. His walking sprite has the hood down (think Rune without a ponytail). They're missing in his talking portrait, too.

Very interesting! It's nice to see some new PS content.
