Yeah, this storm made history in a few ways. For one, it's the only category 4 to hit the Florida panhandle since hurricanes have been recorded starting in the 1850s. It's also the strongest hurricane to make landfall since Andrew in the 1990s, with max sustained winds at 155 at landfall...just barely under category 5 strength. That's pretty incredible, especially this late in hurricane season when things should be starting to wind down.
We're going to be getting this thing tomorrow, though in a much diminished state. We're under a flood watch, but I wouldn't be surprised if we have some tropical storm force winds.
