Hurricane Irene has left Puerto Rico and is now headed toward the Dominican Republic and the USA. Irene is the first Hurricane of this year 2011.

Everyone keep aware of this hurricane, and any others to follow, as it looks like Hurricane season is now upon us. :yaknow:

NOAA has a really great setup for information and tracking the storm. I've enjoyed tracking hurricanes for years.

Last I heard, Irene was down to a Category 1 storm, but it seems New York and other places along the coast are still preparing for whatever may come. Hope everyone stays safe.

Yeah, where I am in western Mass is going to get hammered. And I'm making my move out to Boston today.
