Hostess, the company that makes Twinkies, etc., has closed some of their plants:

Sorry to hear they are having so much trouble. I love their various snack goodies. Yummy!!

I love Hostess! I wish this wasn't happening, but it is. They make a large variety of yummy goodies that I enjoy.

Lol, folks have been going nuts trying to sell Hostess and Twinkie stuff on ebay, etc:

http://money.cnn.com/2012/11/16/news/co ... ?hpt=hp_t3

Gosh, if I had thought about it then, I would have grabbed and bought the few boxes of Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and other Hostess stuff off the shelf at the supermarket when I was there Friday. I looked at it but didn't even think about buying any (slapping my head over that one)!! I might could have made a million bucks on ebay!

Seriously though I have read so much stuff about Twinkies/Hostess online today almost everywhere I've gone...I knew they were popular but didn't think about it being this popular!!

I don't think we've seen the last of Twinkies/etc., yet. I hope some other company will step up and buy the company or something.

I used to eat a lot of Hostess stuff as a kid, so I was as sad as anyone to hear about their shut down. It seems that several companies are already looking to buy at least parts of the old Hostess. It may end up like Atari, with the brand and product being passed to a different organization after the original folds. I think the Hostess products are too popular for them to disappear completely. If nothing else, one of the competitors like Little Debbie will probably make the purchase to prevent their other rivals from getting Hostess' brands and recipes.

Without the conveniently placed creamed filling, we're all doomed. No doubt about it.

(For anyone that doesn't get, Hostess used to run ads in comic books... including one where all the Twinkies were stolen.)

It will be interesting to see which other companies wind up with all of these goodies at auction, etc.

I really liked their pies. Chocolate Pudding pies were the best. Who ever get the pies gets my business.

Good news for Twinkie lovers and other Hostess products, it seems that these beloved snack cakes, and other products, could be back on the market in just a short time:
