Today, April 22, 2011, is Good Friday. Good Friday is a holiday observed by many people to commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It follows Palm Sunday and it precedes Easter Sunday.

In many areas Good Friday is also chosen as a very good time to plant some crops and garden items according to some old almanacs and other gardening advice. I'm not sure but from what I have read, I think this has something to do with the moon being full around that time which makes it a fertile time to plant, or something along those lines.

Happy Good Friday everyone!

Sorry I missed bumping this up, but this past Friday (April 6) on yesterday was Good Friday for 2012.

Good Friday is celebrated by many as the day when Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross.

Good Friday is preceded by Palm Sunday and followed by Easter Sunday!

Bumping this up for 2013. Although I am a few days late, rest assured that Good Friday did indeed come again this year and was celebrated on this past Friday, March 29th. For all those that recognize this day, I hope it was a time of blessing for you and that everyone enjoyed the day. :dove:

Today, Friday, April 18, 2014 is also known as Good Friday. Christians and others celebrate this day as the day that Jesus Christ was crucified and died on the cross.

Some also use this day as a guide to plant their gardens, etc. However, that would be a bad idea here in this area today as it is rainy and cold again. Brrrr!!!

Good Friday is tomorrow April 3, 2015. Good Friday is a holiday observed by many people to commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It follows Palm Sunday and it precedes Easter Sunday. The celebration known as Passover will begin this year during the evening of Good Friday.

Good Friday is also chosen as a very good time to plant some crops and garden items according to some old almanacs and other gardening advice which may have something to do with the moon being full around this time which makes it a fertile time to plant, or something along those lines. Although the weather may factor heavily into planting these crops in some areas also as some areas are still seeing snow and freezing temps this year.

Whatever the reason, enjoy the holiday! :dove: :egg:
