Once again, we have a holiday where we can share good times and good food with friends and family, and of course, I'm no exception as the St. Patrick's Day Food thread is testament to. So... Easter! We had good food, as we usually do:

Some nice appetizers- eggplant parmigiana and Italian meat pie. (Also barely in the picture in the corner, shrimp. But you know how that tastes.) Italian meat pie is made with pie crust filled with salami, cappicola, parsley, and ricotta cheese. A
lot of ricotta cheese.
A closeup of the Italian meat pie. I had two slices of this.

The Spread, Part One. Featured here are ham, butter, broccoli, and breadsticks. Also my dad as he gets some ham.

The Spread, Part Two. In the tin foil are sweet potatoes, which are AWESOME AND YOU SHOULD HAVE SOME, and in the big ceramic dish, stuffing. Sadly excluded from the photos of The Spread are the nice portabello mushroom gravy for the ham (didn't think to photograph the gravy), and the nice potato salad which was supposed to be to the right of the stuffing (hand moved too much while taking picture, only found out when reviewing photos on my phone later.) Not-so-sadly excluded is the bowl of cauliflower (not my favorite vegetable.)

The family Easter basket. We used to do individual ones for my parents, my sister, and myself, but we're getting older, so it's one basket we dig out of. Now, if you're looking at the image file names, you may notice this has the rather non-indicative file name of
strufolli.jpg. That was my screwup.

This is strufoli. Strufoli are an Italian dough ball fried in oil and honey. (My great-grandmother used to also fry them in rum, according to my mom. I tried to talk her into using the rum. She thought about it, but politely declined.) These taste like a donut hole, but much much sweeter. And stickier.
