Thanks for that explanation of Easter Monday, Atlinsmere! I think I understand it a little better now.
Yep, I understand about governments messing with holidays. I think we have something similar here in the US with our 3 day weekend holidays. A holiday is usually only one day, but somehow the government says we need a whole 3 days to celebrate it in. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm not complaining about getting a whole weekend off from work.
Tweeg, hope you feel okay today from eating all that chocolate.
I was surprised at all the chocolate bunnies, eggs, etc., that was on display at the stores this year. It was hard to resist it all. They even had chocolate crosses and praying hands. The chocolate and candy business at Easter has really become overwhelming.
Happy Easter, and mmmmm, Tim Tams! They only sell the original and caramel ones around here. They're also called "Arnott's Original." Weird. Anyway, I had plenty of Jelly Belly and Jolly Rancher jelly beans and a wonderful time worshiping with my family and friends.
Easter is when many celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ after he was crucified on the cross 3 days earlier.
Easter Sunday is also a day when many families gather together to enjoy time with each other, having Sunday dinners and perhaps an Easter Egg hunt for fun.
Whatever your plans, may you have a glorious and very Happy Easter!
