Anyone been on the "Google" site today? Instead of their name, they have a bunch of colored blanks ... sort of like
fill in the blank" or "wheel of fortune" or something. What is up with that? Is today some sort of special day or something??? :eyebrow:

Thought I'd bump this thread up.

I just visited the Google site and they have the page decorated to celebrate Robert Bunsen's 200th birthday? So now I'm wondering who was Robert Bunsen? Is that the guy that invented the Bunsen burner, or whatever that thingy is called?? Anyone have any idea??

Yeah, apparently he's the guy who created the Bunsen burner. From what I've read about him today, he developed it as an improvement on burners that already existed. That may or may not qualify as an invention, depending on how one looks at it.

Today's a Space day. The doodle is for the 50th anniversary of the first human space fight, but this is also the 30th anniversary of the first space shuttle launch.

Goodness, it hardly seems like it has been 30 years since the space shuttles began to fly. Time passes fast. They've held up surprisingly well for that long period of time. I went and saw the google page....cute!!
