Resonance of Fate

Postby Thoul » Fri May 15, '09, 4:21 am

Sega has just announced that they're bringing a new RPG to America and Europe in 2010. It's called "Resonance of Fate" and is developed by Tri-Ace (makers of Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile). There aren't very many story details yet, but it looks to be set in a somewhat modern setting. The protagonist shown in screenshots is wearing blue jeans, for instance.

There are some screenshots in Sega's Flickr account. Check out the fifth one; it looks like some kind of world map, but it's pretty strange looking.

The game is called "End of Eternity" in Japan. The reason for the name change hasn't been revealed, but I suspect it's due to the book by Isaac Asimov of the same name, which is being made into a movie. Here's the first trailer for the Japan version:

Here's another trailer, this one from Europe. It has a few more scenes in it.

I forgot to mention, this is coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3, so there's RPG goodness for just about everybody.

Nope, afraid not. It's slated for Spring, but that's as close to a firm date as Sega has revealed so far.

Not for me, I don't have a 360 or a PS3 and I won't have the money to afford either for a good long time. :( Otherwise I'd consider giving this game a shot.
Next Pokemon game(s): Pearl
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation

Sweet  , I wonder if this RPG will have a similar effect on the gaming world as Phantasy Star has?

That looks pretty sweet. I'll have to keep that in mind next year when buying games. Just another game to add on to the to buy/to try gaming list.
