Microsoft confirmed that it will keep the Games for Windows Live service active past the expected shut off date of tomorrow, July 1st, 2014. Some games still have yet to transfer to new online services, so maybe they are extending the deadline until all of the games can be migrated to other online services. I'm guessing that they are still planning on shutting the service down eventually.

That's surprising. Usually when companies announce a service closure like that, they go ahead with it regardless of what others think. They must have some contracts with some of those game's publishers or developers that require keeping the service open for a while longer.
