Video Gamers recently solved a molecular puzzle that scientists have been unable to solve before, and their discovery could help in dealing with several diseases such as AIDS and other diseases.

I was gonna be all "since when is a background process a game, technology news always sucks" but wait when the hell did Foldit get a game version? I remember the old days of Foldit@home teams just running simulations in the background for ages and ages and it was great.
