On the second and final page of
GamePro #67's review of
Phantasy Star IV, many pros and cons of the game are listed. Some good tips are given in the screen shot captions, but the middle column of the article provides a major story spoiler. That's usually not a good thing for a magazine to do when trying to introduce a game to players. The magazine's original artwork presents characters with very unusual emotions on their faces. Chaz looks almost insane, with overly wide eyes and an even wider grin. Rune's evil stare and grimace paint him as a caped thug. Perhaps Gryz gets the most faithful representation of his game character. Even the faceless version of Alys gets something wrong, giving her a sword instead of her trademark slasher.
