Galapagos tortoise dies

Sad story of the death of a famous Galapagos Island tortoise named Lonesome George. George was the last known of his species, making his death and loss even more heartbreaking. George will be embalmed and remain as a tourist attraction.

It's sad to think that the last of these turtles is gone. But, you never know... there may be some out there that haven't been discovered yet. Some animals are really good at avoiding people.
