For muskies, uploading this oldie to the gallery. :) My second drawing, all pencil Cedar Waxwing. This is one I intend to do in color someday.

I think I saw one of these birds for the first time just a couple of days ago. Are they mostly gray? If so, this was definitely it.

Anyway, this is a great drawing. There's a lot of detail on the wings and feet, which I like. The black pattern on the face looks like a little mask. :lol:

They're sort of grayish to a dull yellow and brown. Their tail tips are bright yellow (though sometimes orange) and they're usually going around in large flocks, often near rivers or ponds or other sources of water. Link to a picture of one is below.

There's another species (Bohemian Waxwing) in parts of the western US that's more gray. So maybe it was one of them you saw?

Hm, maybe it was the Bohemian. Or maybe it was something different entirely. I don't remember any yellow or orange on this bird, though I didn't get a good look at the tail or belly. *shrug* If I see one again, I'll have to pay better attention!
