Five Guys Burgers

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Fri Feb 13, '09, 3:43 am

Has anyone ever eaten at one of these restaurants called "Five Guys"? I happened to see one of these last weekend when we were out shopping in a nearby town and I was curious about what type of place it was since I had never heard of it before.

If anyone has eaten there, how do you like their food, etc.?

I never have, but there is one by the place I work, and some of my co-workers go there from time to time. They seem to like it. I'd imagine it's comparable to an In and out Burger or a Fat Burger.

Hm, I haven't heard of that one either. We don't have one locally.

There's one locally by me- very large servings of fries, and large burgers cooked/topped to order. They even provide you an extra scoopful of fries in your bag, and all the peanuts you can eat at the table!

Five Guys is what I usually describe as "Holy crap, it's good but I can't eat here more than once every six months, otherwise my heart will stop." food.

Found this article on the Five Guys restaurants. Now, I know what Snorb must have been talking about in his post above about it being good but not being able to eat there but once in a while. Sounds awesome! It seems Pres. Obama likes Five Guys food too.

I'm jealous. Not that we don't have any good burger joints down here but I'd love to go to one of these.

I went to one while in DC over my spring break. It was very good, easily one of the best restaurant burgers I've had. But yeah...not a place to eat regularly. You can practically feel your bad cholesterol rising while you eat there. :p

That sounds like a pretty good recommendation to me, Caged Wolf! Now, I really want to try one of these places out some day. :hyper:

Sounds really good! But it's probably a really good thing that there's not one around me. The temptation to eat there would be too huge for me.

We actually have a Five Guys near us, and people tell me they are quite good. That said, I have still yet to try them myself...
