My Top Ten GBA Games

My Top Ten GBA Games

Postby LordShibas » Wed Feb 11, '09, 11:42 pm

I've finally finished all of the GBA games in my collection. I finished up Summon Night Swordcraft Story 2 the other day and it was the last game in my collection. Still working on a review for it, but man it was a really good game. Even better than the first Summon Night game, which I truly love. Anyway, of all the games I've played, here's my top ten. In case anyone cares.

10. Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
9. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
8. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
7. Double Dragon Advance
6. Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
5. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
4. Summon Night Swordcraft Story
3. Final Fantasy VI: Advance
2. Summon Night Swordcraft Story 2
1. Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon

Not sure what I'm going to move on to now. Maybe some DS games since I'm still in the mood to play portable games. I had a lot of fun with my GBA collection. I can only hope that other systems measure up.

Shining Force is a remake of the Genesis version, right? How does it stack up to the original?

Yes it is a remake of the Genesis version. I found it better than the original in every way. Updated graphics, more characters, more battles, and a more fleshed out story. Definitely a game that fans of the original should play.

That Shining Force was much better. I also found the music much better than the Genesis version.

Not sure if I can get to 10 but let me try...

1) Final Fantasy VI Advance
2) Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
3) Lunar Legend
4) Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
5) Final Fantasy I&II: Dawn of Souls
6) Phantasy Star Collection
7) Sega Smash Pack

Looks like I've got to play more GBA :) I'm planning to start Kingdom Hearts soon and I expect that to rank pretty high.

I haven't even played 10 GBA games myself either. I need to get a few more. The good ones are hard to find now, though.

Ditto, but that's mostly because I'm not much of a handheld gamer. My GBA collection consists of four Spyro games, two Yugioh games, and a Grash Banidcoot game. That outweighs the games I have for the original GameBoy (3) and the DS (2).

I USED to have a GBA, but I sold it as I more or less lost interest, and I was trying to get money for a Wii (and hey, I got 50 dollars for it all, I think, so not bad, and I use my Wii WAY more than I ever used the GBA). And almost every game I had for it I've found roms and emulated them instead. Guess I'm not much into handheld gaming.

But my favorite GBA game is one that I'm unlikely to have a legitimate copy of at any time in the near future, and that's Mother 3.
Next Pokemon game(s): Pearl
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation

1. Phantasy Star Collection
2. Breath of Fire
3. Breath of Fire 2
4. Golden Sun
5. Golden Sun The Lost Age
6. DragonBall Z : Goku's Legacy

Lol well I guess that's all the GBA games I've really played...as you can see they're all RPG's in some form or another :D
