Resident Evil

Postby Atlinsmere » Tue Feb 24, '09, 11:54 pm

Well, as far as some of you may know (Hopefully now all of you), Capcom is releasing a new Resident Evil soon titled, "Resident Evil 5" or for in Japan, "Biohazard 5." We get to see the return of Chris Redfield along with his partner Sheva Alomar.

So, my question is this, which Resident Evil game is your favorite?

I haven't played them at all. ;) All I know about the series comes mainly from the movies.

Well, I might have a demo of one of them that I've played. I can't recall if it's Resident Evil or some other game in the same genre.

I've only played Resident Evil Out Break. It was about 2 years ago it was a decent game I guess. But I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it.

Not played it before. It is something I may consider at some point, though.
Next Pokemon game(s): Pearl
Last finished Pokémon game: Shield
Other games: Skyrim Special Edition (Switch), Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch & PS4), Okami (Switch & PS4)
Other gaming goals: completing a Living Pokedex (minus some event Pokes) and going through at least 1 game per generation

Seeing as how I've gone and selected 'other' in the Polls, I appearantly owe you guys an explanation.

My favourite of the series is actually Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii. Since I've never played any of the others (With the exclusion of IV, which I own on PS2.), it is sort of nice to get a zombie game, not being tied down by the early RE game's controls, and have an excuse to use my Wiimote like a knife.
And...I'm a bit of a sucker for Lightgun games, I'll admit that.

Which reminds me...I need to actually buy the game and stop borrowing it from friends. XD

I'm going to have to say Resident Evil 4. One was really hard and enjoyable, but I liked the new views and gameplay from REsident Evil 4. I probably would have picked RE2, but I don't remember it that well as it's been a long time since I played it.

My favorite Resident Evil game was the Dreamcast version of Code Veronica. I have yet to play the X version of it.

RE games I have played:

RE (PS)
RE (Saturn)
RE Director's Cut (PS)
RE 2 (PS)
RE 2 (DC)
RE 3 (PS)
RE 3 (DC)
RE: Code Veronica (DC)

Code Vernoica is tied with Silent Hill 3 for my favorite survival horror game of all time. Both of these games were just incredible IMO. Alfred Ashford from Code Veronica has such a freaky persona.

It's funny that you bring up RE. I just pre-ordered the Red Elite RE 5 Xbox 360 Bundle yesterday from Amazon. It looks pretty cool.

Hmm this is a hard one, in order I like[although I enjoy them all not counting the FPS's which I can't stand]

RE4 & 3 are tied
RE : CV
RE2
RE1[for it's cheesy B-movie aspect]
RE0[don't particularly like the dual controlling of characters]

I love the RE1 remake on GC and it's tied with RE : CV in my book

Well, either way I have the special edition for RE5 pre-ordered. Costing me 80$.

But as for myself, I would have to say this is the order for me.
RE4(Wii Version)
RE4(GC Version)
RE1(GC remake)
RE2(PS2)
RE: Code Veronica X(PS2)
