Favorite Defunct Sites

Postby hugues » Sat Jan 19, '08, 2:12 am

I keep a little directory of Phantasy Star sites on my web page. Every few months I do a sweep to purge dead sites. Along the way I revisit all the long defunct ones.. ones that haven't been updated in years but are still out on the internets. Here are a few interesting ones:

:wolfwhistle: Make sure you have a pop-up blocker and Java disabled before visiting any of these - consider yourself warned

Wizardmage's Phantasy Star Kingdom - A PSIV site that never really did much, has some good maps though.

Rysel Online - A page dedicated to the town of Rysel from PSIII. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Alisa III - I exchanged emails with the owner of this site years ago. He was taking on the ambitious project of creating overworld maps for PSIII and wanted to know if I could share some source images. Since I never tried to create overworld maps I couldn't. However, he managed to create a few.

Phantasy Star Quiz - Javascript quizzes for the original four games.

Any others out there?

The quiz site used to be pretty good, but the last time I tried to use it, it no longer worked for me. I guess the Javascript was too old or something.

Everything has a pattern. Something set. Even random things. They aren't random at all, its complex mathematics. The trick is to find the pattern. Then you can exploit it.

People think things have a certain end. Taxes. Work. Due dates don't really exist. Trust me. When you put a band of world scholars in the same room, and set them on talking about anything, the most interesting topics come up. The existence of negative time. The probability of "random occurrence". The government's involvement in the media. And falsified due dates. They aren't real, trust me....

http://freett.com/naknak/game/ps/ps.html - Japanese website, but it's interesting to browse with an online translator. And I have no idea if it's even updated or not anymore. Just thought I'd share.

I liked the characters illustrations.

They were tough to find (without running the translation).. but they're worth the visit. Whoever make them did a great job.

Not really for me, my compy does that thing where if you hover over the button it'll appear down in the bottom left corner, and when I hovered over that one it said, "Chara" so I assumed it meant Characters. Hehe.

Now I gotta steal the PSII character pictures to make a signature like Kaloes's. T_T

Or an RM2k3 PSII remake.
Read my social stuff!
The ramblings of an oldish geezer on Facebook.
@SnorbESnorb on Twitter. The "E" stands for "Everything."

Play my games!
The ArrrPG - A game I made about being a pirate. This be a first draft, matey! Though it plays just fine, clap yer eyes on th' eventual Revised an' Expanded Edition and you'll be pleased, by thunder!

Nakama: A Card Game of Magical Girls - A completely un-playtested card game about being a magical girl.

Well, excuse me while I defy all laws of logic and common sense and do it anyway.

I feel sorry for the artist who drew those pictures. Their drawings are being used without permission, for shame! :D
