Top Ten Languages

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Wed May 30, '12, 12:11 pm

Whoa, this short video on the top ten languages really surprised me. I find it hard to believe that French was in the tenth spot, and although I was hoping that English would be in the first spot, I'm not surprised to find out that it came in second place:

Comments or Opinions anyone???

Thanks for the link : I've noted this link and answer to it now.
Unfortunately, about french being at the tenth place isn't very surprising for me : at the end of the 19th century it was still the Diplomatic language but now...During the 18th century, all the different kingdoms were speaking less or more french language but now...
I can't see the link anymore : which language is first ? Spanish I suppose !

Unfortunately the link doesn't seem to go to that video anymore, so here's an alternate link.

And my hunch was right - Mandarin is the top language in the world. Not surprising one bit.

Nice article. I like that they explain why the language is in the position it is in as opposed to just listing them.
All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.
