Lyle: Just gotta be careful. They've got cousins called sylphs and nereids in the other kingdoms.
Lena: Lyle, they're just imps! You worry too much! XD
Wren: Then I shall lead the assault.

Maia: (finishes burying Rhys and the others at the beach where they met) ;_;
Rhys: (under six feet of beach) ...You know, that game over text doesn't exactly say we're dead, Maia. It just says we lost our will to fight.

Or if a Gryphon (strongest Harpy type enemy) was in G1...

Rhys: Ooh, a Gryphon? In this generation?

Mieu: It's a bird in a dress, what's the worst it can do?

Lyle: There are weaker versions of these enemies called the Harpy and Griffin. We won't be able to stand a chance against this.

Lena: You're scared of a bird in a dress? Hah!

Wren: We should get to attacking.

(one battle later)

Mieu: (wins the against the Gryphon, but all the others are dead and she has 1 HP left) ...help...? ;_;

Also, cousins of the Imp are called Impfoul and Impvile. The Dryad's cousins are called Nereid and Sylph :P

The importance of later versions and some things fixed to have a "better" adventure ! I still have this Sega Megadrive Collection, but on the XBOX 360 ! But my XBOX 360 is off and I'll never be able to play it again :(

On the XBOX360/PlayStation III port of the game (on collections) -- the games are nearly the exact same, so you likely wouldn't meet those missing enemies eitherway. In the Playstation II port (again, on collections), appearantly some things in the game were fixed, likely referring to how some enemies made it back in like previously described on this board.

You could download the Sega Megadrive Collection for Playstation II online, but you'd need a PS2 emulator, and I doubt my iPad can handle that :P

I just found out something very odd...

In Generation 2, Nial's Path, using walk-through walls codes to get to Dahlia early, the dungeon has monsters in it, unlike in normal game, where monsters are abscent. Well, I was playing about a bit, and I encountered a few enemies from later generations (the Kensai from G3 Aridia/Frigidia Passage, the Dragon from G3 Sage Isle), and guess what I found?

The Skeleton enemy.

I thought it was the Wraith at first. Then I noticed its colour pallette. No mistake, it was the Skeleton. Does this mean its location got garbled? Was it originally supposed to appear in G2 Dahlia dungeon, but some plot-flag (likely intentional) got encounters disabled? Either way, this is a very odd find, and even if it's a shame you can't find the enemy in the regular game, being able to meet it was still nice.

A hack of the game was released to make the game harder by having more enemies appear at a time, and removed enemies appear in it too.

Here's a link if you want more info: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3646/

My guess is that the data for what formations exist as a boolean value. I've noticed if you go into some areas you aren't supposed to via glitching, you end up running into nothing but Chirper's. It could be that enemy formations exist in a state that's basically:

- if x is true: these are the formation encounter tables:
- otherwise: these are the formation encounter tables:
I feel the way you would
