Living without a heart

At first it may sound like a gruesome scary movie, or something fictional, but rather it has become a reality it seems, and it seems to be saving lives:

Still, I have mixed feelings about this. It just doesn't seem normal, but then what is the real meaning of " normal " in these days and times?

Artificial hearts... it sounds like something out of Star Trek. But hey, it's a good thing that medicine is that advanced now, considering the alternative would be for the kid to die.
