Borgnine had a long and very successful career in acting. He was in many films and had even won an oscar. He was also in many TV series and shows, including starring in the comedy show "McHale's Navy" and the hit show "Airwolf".
Condolences to his family. He will be long remembered.
I'll say more about time later because I'm in a hurry (I'll edit) but I would like to tell that I'm very sad !!!:(
Back : very sad like I have said before.. we have just talked about him saturday night as there was, in a bar, a special sort of karaoke/video projection of anime and series openings movies (don't know if the name is right...) and there was Airwolf (Supercopter here in France) and we talked about him.. and just we learn that he has juste disappeared.. but surely with a long and great life ! I can also remember an apparation in an episode of the Little house on the prairie RIP and condolences to all his family.

I was glad sad to hear of this over the weekend. I used to watch Airwolf a lot as a kid. It's been a long time since I've seen it, so I don't remember it very well. Mr. Borgnine was always and expressive actor with great delivery.
As an aside, I wonder if he had some fans in circle of people working on the last few Star Trek TV shows. I mean, look at his name: Borg-nine. That's a funny coincidence, don't you think?
Indeed I am, up to the point where Barry Van D-yk-e (word filter prvents me from spelling his last name) takes the roll as lead actor (season 4) at least. Seasons 1 - 3 were fantastic. Prefer to think of the show ending with season three as the very first episode of Season 4...
. Nothing against Barry, it was just his lot in life to get cast as lead role of a two series killing final season back in the 80's... other series killer being "Galactica 1980".
Screenshots are from the season one, disc 2, side b DVD.
Very funny there about the "Borg" there Thoul! That's a good point though. I might have to do some "Star Trek" research and see if I can find anything out about that. It's too much of a coincidence, I think.
Tweeg, I had forgotten about Barry being in "Airwolf" but after reading your posts and doing some online research I seem to recall that a bit. I think I remember the scene where they supposedly killed Santini's character off and I didn't like that one little bit. It really infuriates me when they get a hit TV show and then for one reason or another they just seem to try and destroy it in any way possible.
Seeing this topic bumped up reminds me that a few months ago I read the book that Ernest Borgnine wrote. It was his biography and the title is "Ernie". Very interesting book and he talks a bit about his growing up years, his early life, and he tells a bit about each movie he's been in and a little about his TV work. Only mentioned "Airwolf" a wee bit. Good book though, and I highly recommend it to any Borgnine fans.
