Hunter Rika

Postby Xander » Mon Aug 30, '10, 4:47 pm

I was doing my head in, being unable to draw something more original, so I decided to practice some more and drew a portrait instead, something I'm finding myself quite good at.

Anyway, for those not aware, this is Rika in her Hunters Guild outfit. I won't go so far as to mention the whole story that was originally written behind this, you can find it in the compendium, mainly because it's not exactly official anyways. :p

So that's that. I drew some more stuff. :) It'll be my last Rika piece for a while anyway, seeing how I've churned out a lot recently and could do with tackling one of the other fanart pieces on my list.

Feedback and such is welcome as always folks, so go ahead. :D

Very nicely drawn. It's weird seeing her with a no-nonsense face, since she always seemed so happy-go-lucky. Good job!

I have to agree with H-man. It's almost scary. I also like the short hair. well done!

Hey, thanks you guys. :D I wasn't so sure about the expression I was going to use, though i felt a calmer, happier expression wouldn't fit, especially considering the little bit of story that was made to go along with it. She's bound to be a little unhappy.

She looks very unhappy, to put it mildly. Good drawing and very nice use of colors.

Awesome stuff Xander, she looks pretty good with short hair as well. So who wants to screw with Rika now? :p

All I have to say for criticism is that the hair seems a little off somehow. hmm...

But other than that you did a great job Xan. It makes me want to bust out my pencil crayons and attempt some original arts stuff like that. =D

The hair probably didn't turn out as per the original, that's true. The picture I used was pretty small and I think some of the details were lost on it. I could barely see the bandanna she was wearing and only knew for sure because it said so. :D

She looks mighty fierce here. I like the colors and design overall, though I'm a bit surprised to see so much skin on a hunter outfit. Rika's always had a bit of a problem with practical outfits, but I just would have thought "older and wiser" Rika wouldn't have her tummy exposed as a hunter.

I wasn't sure myself either. The reference image wasn't very clear on the matter, it seemed a bit fuzzy, so I just went with what I'd originally thought it was. :p
