The original Batmobile car from the 1960's TV series has been sold at auction:

The car is absolutely worth every bit of that $4.2 million dollars, in my humble opinion!!! :yes:

Holy Petunia!!!! I sure would love to have that car!!!! And, what devoted Batman fan wouldn't want it?????

It will be interesting to see if the new owner has any special plans for the car!!!

I read about this one going on sale a few weeks ago. I knew it would fetch a high price, but even so I didn't think it would go that high. What's really neat about this particular car is that it was the Ford concept car that was abandoned by Ford and later rebuilt into the Batmobile. Several copies were made for the TV show later, but this really is the original. It has a special place not only in television history, but also car history.

Found an interesting article about another Batmobile that recently sold at auction. This was a 1963 Batmobile that I had never even seen before. Very unusual car, but then it would have to be if it was a Batmobile. It sold for over $130,000.00 which is a lot lower than the Batmobile mentioned above sold for but still that's a heck of a lot of money. What does everyone think of this car and can you see any similarities between this one and the later Batmobile that was used in the classic "Batman" tv series?
