That's true, and a good approach.
If no one here has played it, just try to see the good and bad things people say and see which have more weight for you. Or do what I do, just ignore all reviews, the ones that say it is good and the ones that say it is bad, and go play it.
I have found very few reviewers who do an informed and informative job. A lot just whine, I think to look "cool" or get more views. Some just say a game is "awesome" but do not say why. The few reviewers I like are ones that can admit a game ended up being of a genre they do not like (so they do not like the game), but even so give data about the mechanics for people who may need to learn what the game is like, and give a fair grade regardless of if they hated it.
