EA is dropping all support for Vita and 3DS

CEO Peter Moore says that he doesn't think that people will be playing games on the Vita or 3DS in 2 or 3 years, so he doesn't see a need to support the systems anymore.

I don't even know what kind of support EA gave the 3DS and the Vita since I don't really play many, if any EA games, but this is another blow to a struggling generation of handheld systems.

I try to avoid EA games, but there's a few that I do like…Mirror's Edge and Mass Effect being the first to come to mind. And it hurts me a bit inside when I realize that those two games are EA, because they're GOOD. Fortunately those aren't Vita games, so this move doesn't affect me, and I can't think of any EA games on Vita I have interest in.

It seems to me EA is making another decision that I think might come back to haunt them. The 3DS is doing pretty well.

Mass Effect is published by EA. It is a Bioware game.

Sad that the people whose only role is to sell the game give it such a terrible rep.

Also: Mirror's Edge is a game so badly underestimated, I LOVE that game!

I should've been clearer…I know EA publishes a lot of games, and a lot of those they publish are not developed by them, Mass Effect among them. When I said 'EA games' I basically meant any game that has that name attached to it, whether it's actually developed by EA or published by them. Should have clarified that. As much as I enjoyed the first Mass Effect game and will be getting to 2 and 3 as I have the full trilogy collection for PS3, it undeniably leaves a bad taste in my mouth to see the EA logo plastered all over it along with the BioWare logo. I feel the same with any games that have the Ubisoft name attached to them, whether as developer or publisher.

This is what happens when it's still 80 degrees at 10 pm with a dew point in the 70s. I fail to actually express myself effectively.

I enjoyed Mirror's Edge, and apparently, there's another game in the works…that will have the EA name attached to it.

Well that was nice of them, maybe soon they'll drop support for all systems.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of EA.

Nope, you're not. My dislike of them isn't quite as great as my dislike of EA, but they're up there.

Mirror's Edge is a game that's I've always wanted to play. I hear it's good, but I stayed away from it because I heard the combat is pretty bad. Maybe I'll see if I can find it on a Steam sale.

Ubisoft has their markings on my beloved Splinter Cell games. I don't really have any hatred for them as a company, but I know that many people do.

I think Mirror's Edge went on sale at one point during the Steam sales just this past week. My boyfriend is on Steam and I'm pretty sure he mentioned seeing it. But since it's so old, I imagine its base price can't be that much anymore. It's a good game. Flawed, sure, and the combat isn't really the best, but that said, the game isn't really about the combat and for the most part, it's easy to avoid the fights, if I recall correctly.
