Does anyone else enjoy Phantasy Star speedruns?

Discuss the saga of Algo, where the legend began.

Does anyone else enjoy Phantasy Star speedruns?

My girlfriend and I are both Phantasy Star fans, and I love speedruns, so lately we've been watching notable runs, like at RPG Limit Break. I love to see the way games are broken down by runners, you learn a lot about the mechanics, and of course seeing Phantasy Star still being played with passion is always cool.

I am not a fan of speedruns. They ruin the enjoyment IMO. Prefer to take it slow so I can take in the full experience.

Not speed run per say, but low-level run.

Not speed run per say, but low-level run.
I have actually beat Phantasy Star II at level 24 before, no cheats or assists, or saves tates. It was when I owned a Gameboy Advance with the PS collection. But I do admit to using the visophon and the open menu/close menu trick that is built into PSII natively, which eliminates random encounters.

Same with PSIV, but at level 27, on my sega genesis. far more tedious.

Nope. While gaming, I like to chill. No speedruns for me in my single player experience.

I don't mind speed runs for games like Sonic or Mario Bros. On the other hand RPGs are story based and are to be enjoyed at a slower pace.
All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.

I see streamers doing PSIV speedruns sometimes, but it's not really my thing to be honest.
"Rolf, there's no hope for me. If Neifirst is dead, I must die, too."
And in so saying, Nei silently closed her eyes.
