When you get junk mail or have paid a bill you received in the mail, do you shred it before throwing it away? Identity theft is a common crime now, so lots of places recommend shredding to prevent unscrupulous people from getting your vital details from your trash.

Personally, I don't have a shredder. I almost never throw away bills though - I keep them, in case of a billing error later. It helps to have proof of past bills when dealing with that. Junk mail that has credit card offers or such usually gets torn up, with any cards including being cut with a pair of scissors.

Nah, I don't shred it. Sometimes I tear it up and just throw it away. Sometimes I just throw it away without tearing it up. I used to burn a lot of that stuff but there is a ban on outside burning here now because of the severe drought the area had a few years ago. I usually don't keep it.

Depends on the mail. If it has something important, like my banking account number or Social security number, I either stash it or I rip it up and flush the important numbers down the toilet. How many of you guys are that paranoid? XD

Generally I rip it up and if it can be recycled, put it in the recycling bin. Otherwise, goes in the trash.
