Post subject: Do you decorate outside?
PostPosted: Fri Dec 14, '07, 7:50 pm
In my area, a lot of people put lighted Christmas decorations outside, on their house or in their yard. Then they run the lights at night, so people driving down the road can see the decorations and get a Christmasy feeling. Do you do any outside decorations like this?

I've never actually done it myself, but I do enjoy riding down the road to see other people's decorations.

I put a string of lights outside sometimes. The neighbors really go all out in decorating. I'll bet their electric bill is high because of it too.

XD Too bad ya'll can't see my house. *super proud* Though I don't put any up, our entire house is covered, more than 8 lengthy bushes, green icicle lights on the planters, santa on the roof, red front porch light, twinkling snowflakes, Hundreds of white icicle lights in the back yard, a santa with a waterfall running through him, and light up reigndeer. Ya, not to mention the inside. XD

We had a little pine tree outside that we would put a big string of lights on. That's all we've ever done. The tree has gotten to large for it now, though. We can only reach like halfway up the tree.

We used to decorate a bit outside but haven't done it in years. It got to be too much trouble and too costly on the electric bill. I miss it, though, as I think it is very beautiful and really makes one feel the Christmas Spirit more.

By the way, here's a link to a pic I saw on the tmz. com site of actor Charlie Sheen's house all decorated up for the holidays. Wow, he really has the Christmas spirit this year, lol. It looks fantastic, I think. What do you think? Oh, be forewarned, some of the comments down below the pic may contain a little spicy language so you may want to skip those.

I've seen houses with a lot of decorations before, but that really takes the cake! I'd hate to see his electric bill next month.

Bumping this thread up for the current holiday season.

During this holiday season, Are you planning to decorate outside this year? On your house? In your yard? On your mailbox? Anywhere else?

Do you decorate a little, or a lot, outside?

As for me, no decorations outside this year. Too difficult to put up. I do think outside Christmas decorations are very beautiful and love to ride around and look at all the different ones. :ball:

I'm not planning on it, but there's the possibility. I saw some good outside decorations on sale at Kmart this weekend. They have this string of lights with the lights in a flexible plastic tube. That seems like it would be easier to put out that simple lights.
