What happened to the "liar reputation" of the Dezolians in Phantasy Star IV? It was an aspect of Phantasy Star I that was just hilarious.

"Ze cave to ze south is safe, yes, yes, it is."

On that note, Guyana was the only Dezolian who supposedly had a "old fashioned accent" in PS IV, although you couldn't tell by the text.

'Guess the Dezolis lying died out in the series, as well as the accent?

I like to think that in PSIV, they were just more comfortable talking to Palmans. During a thousand years with almost no space travel, the Palmans and Dezorians living on the planet probably interacted a lot. You know, trading for food, clothing, and other stuff of that nature. After so long, the Palmans were probably no longer viewed as invaders, so there's more trust between them.

in PSIV the Dezorians knew what was going on... they were trying to help, not hinder, altho not at first.

There's at least one sour Dezorian left in Ryuon :)

I pretty much think the same as Thoul here. Over time I just believe that the Palmans and Dezorians just got to live with each other and receive better realtionships.

I must go along with Thoul on this and add my favorite saying

"Time changes, and so do people"

Not the most clever thing to say but it's true, especially after a thousand years :)

Yes, this is so true - but just one lying dezolian would have been fun, for old time's sake. :D

...the Motavians still dislike the Palmans, even after 2000 years.

That's a different situation. The Palmans on Motavia behaved a lot differently than the ones on Dezoris. Motavia was transformed into Palma-lite and the native species were either exterminated or driven from their home territories. That sort of abuse remains in the memories of a people for a very long time and continues to foster anger and hatred even after the people who actually committed such deeds are long dead. If Palmans had taken such extensive control of Dezoris in the past, more of the Dezorians would probably share the Motavians' feelings.

There's also another factor on Motavia: Zio. When we see Motavians in PSIV, an army of Palmans had recently burned down a Motavian village, killing everyone there except two people. That sort of thing causes tensions to rise a bit.

Dezorians were very unhappy with the huge "Crevice" the Palmans made for the Spaceport, hateful in fact.

i dont remember the Motavians being hateful to Palmans in PS1 or PS2, altho there were no Motavians Towns or Villages in PS1 or PS2, just the Roron junkyard.
