Anyone remember the classic 1969 film "True Grit" starring John Wayne as Marshal Rooster Cogurn, and Kim Darby as Mattie Ross, and singer Glenn Campbell as the Texas Ranger?

Actor John Wayne won an oscar for his portrayal in the movie. In accepting his oscar he stated " Wow! If I'd Known That, I'd Have Put That Patch On 30 years earlier.".

The song "True Grit", which was song by Glenn Campbell, also received an oscar nomination for best song.

Well, now, I've read that there is a remake of "True Grit" already filming. The remake will have actor Jeff Bridges playing the part of Marshal Rooster Cogburn, and the movie will also star actors Matt Damon, Josh Brolin, and others.

It remains to be seen whether this remake will do as well as the original.

Comments or Opinions?

John Wayne made so many similar movies that I can never keep them straight. I've probably seen at least a portion of it. I'm not sure if anyone can live up to filling John Wayne's shoes, so I'm not too eager to see a remake.
