 Post subject: Dawn Dishwashing Liquid
PostPosted: Mon Jul 27, '09, 4:15 pm
An unusual title for a topic on Animals, I know, but bear with me here.

Lately, I have been seeing a commercial for Dawn Dishwashing Liquid where they have been advertising that this Liquid is used to help get oil and other dirt off of birds and other animals that have been caught in oil spills, etc., from various shipping or other type accidents.

Imagine that, a dishwashing detergent that is also helping the wildlife, etc. That's wonderful!

Also, if you think about it, if this detergent can get that type of oil off of birds, etc., then it should be great for just plain olde dirty, greasy, dishes.

Personally, I just use Sunlight dish soap. I can't use Dawn, every time I do my hands become dry when I'm done and I have to use some hand lotion.

Though at least it's good for one other thing right. ^_^

I think Sunlight is what we use, also. It's pretty rare here, though. Only one store in this area still sells it. As for the animals... well, whatever works. I'm sure there have been studies to make sure it is not harmful to the animals. It kind of makes me wonder if Dawn would be good for cleaning engine parts, too.

I like Dawn, though I usually use Joy. I use it 'cause I find it at the Dollar Store!

I have to be careful using some dishwashing liquids as they cause my hands to break out sometimes too. I think I've used Dawn, but it's been a long time. It's just interesting that if it is strong enough to get oil off but also delicate enough to be used on animals.

I also like Ivory as a dishwashing liquid. It's gentle on the hands, and fairly good washing dishes.

I don't like washing dishes, though. :melodramatic:
