Ironman or Harry Potter?

Postby Silver_Surfer1 » Thu Feb 26, '09, 1:44 am

It looks like the new "Harry Potter" movie will be released the same day that the new "Avengers" movie with Ironman (actor Robert Downey, Jr.) is scheduled for release.

So, who do you think will win this battle of moviegoers on the day these movies are released? Vote in our poll.

If it were just Iron Man 2, I'd expect that to get a new date. But it's not; it's the Avengers, which is supposedly going to be a combo of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America all in one movie. Plus, it was scheduled to out just a month after Captain America's solo film. They picked that time frame specifically... I'd say they would have to reschedule both Avengers and Captain America if they wanted to move either of them.

I doubt Harry Potter will get a date change or that a comic book movie could top it. It'll be interesting to see how things go, though.

Hard one to choose...I love Harry Potter but I am salivating at an Avengers movie. I think the comic nerds will ultimately win the day....although Harry will have more people going back to see it

There's an update on this today: Marvel caved to Harry Potter. They pushed Avengers back nearly a year into 2012. Their Thor movie has also been pushed back a year; now it's in 2011. The Captain America movie was pushed back a little, but not as far. Now it comes out the week after this Harry Potter film.

Oh Nooooooooooooooooooo! This really makes me angry! :fiery: I can understand them not wanting to open close to Harry Potter films, but why push it back a whole year. I guess we'll just have to be content with Capt. America.

Oh but I'm sure Capt America will be awesome! It'll definitely make you want to see the Avengers that much more
