Coca Cola has announced they will be raising their prices very soon:

I guess it is understandable that since they have to pay more for the ingredients to make Coke that they would need to charge more for the finished product, but still it is a pain to see another rate hike for the consumer to bear. More companies already have, and will probably continue to, follow the same path in raising prices, etc.

Will this price increase have any effect on your cola drinking habits?

For myself, probably not, I don't drink that much coke any way.

It depends on how much the prices actually rise. If it's just 3%, that's not too bad of an increase. A $1 bottle would go up to $1.03, which is hardly noticeable. I don't expect much change in my buying habits from that.

Of course, once summer passes and we get into the "off" season for the product, retailers will probably increase the price more dramatically. They certainly did so last year. If they do that again, I'll look at alternatives for sure.

Been off of carbonated drinks completely since 2000. Have no desire to go back to drinking the stuff either.
