Cleverbot

Has anyone else checked out "Cleverbot"? It is a real AI that you can talk with.
It is still learning and gets confused, but it has shocked me many times with its intelligence.

Check it out: http://www.cleverbot.com/

A warning, however: You can end up spending WAY too much time talking to Cleverbot than desired.

Whoa. Both fascinating and creepy! It asked me why I believed in God and I hadn't even mentioned believing in God.

It is pretty cool. But it asked what my surname was and I told it. Then it ended up saying something about Harry Potter. Then I was all like okay…I don’t even watch Harry Potter and what does that have to do with my last name? :blank:

It gave me some pretty weird answers to just about everything. I didn't find it to be very clever at all. I guess it still has a lot to learn.

It does. Bear in mind that it also loves to play games. Case in point:

Me: That's what I mean. You say random stuff too often.
Cleverbot: Or is it really random?
Me: I see. So you are playing games?
Cleverbot: Yes I am.

It has remembered my name on several occasions, which has surprised me. Sometimes, just when you're thinking it's just parroting back stuff it's been told, it actually can shock you and answer math problems, follow the course of an argument, and give clear answers to philosophic questions. It can be confused at times, but it can impress also. It's a developing robot that is learning more everyday. It liked that I talked to it about ancient Egypt.

Whoa, that is fun, but weird! I can see why someone might spend too much time there.

Anyone remeber AIM Bot? AIM had an AI lonely bored people could chat with. Spent way to much time chatting nonsense with it until they ended its program.
