Games based on TV shows

Postby Thoul » Wed Jun 24, '09, 5:11 am

It's very typical to see blockbuster movies, or any movie that might be considered "for the kids," to get a video game based on the films. A few TV series have gotten so popular that they've had games as well - like the old Knight Rider game on the NES. Are there any really good games based off TV shows?

I know Avatar has had a few games come out. But I can't say if it's a good game or not. It looked interesting but I don't play games based off of TV shows. Well, I don't think Pokemon games count >D

I've heard good things about Barney's Hide & Seek for the Genesis, but then those good things were being said by the people belonging to the Barney cult at GameFAQs prior to cjayc breaking them up several years back.

Bleach: The Blade of Fate (DS)
Bleach: Dark Souls (DS)
Mighty Max (Genesis)
The Magic School Bus (Genesis)

There are also multiple TV show based games for the more popular series, such as: The X-Files, Star Trek, and C.S.I.

Hmm...let me think: Those Ducktales games for NES were actually very fun, if anyone else remembers those.

I think that I've played that one! :misspeak: Every time that Barney found a kid, there would be a voice clip that would say, "I love you," in Barney's voice. The game itself? Like a generic 2d platformer; only instead of getting to the end of a level, you find all of the kids in the level.

Shrek 2 the game for the Xbox was pretty good compared to my expectations for it. It was like a Gauntlet for the kids.

Speaking of NES Disney games, I also found Chip N' Dale to be a rather fun game as well, although I remember it being not quite as good as Ducktales. Both games were made by Capcom I believe, so they usually know how to make a quality game.
