I hope this cat will be able to keep all of the 13 million, unlike Leona Helmsley's dog which only wound up with 2 million dollars of the $12 million Mrs. Helmsley left him, according to this article.

Missed this topic somehow... anyway, it reads like the old lady may have left the money to her nurse, with a condition that the nurse take care of the cat. If so, that's a smart way to do it. It's likely more difficult for anyone to successfully contest that than the situation of the dog.
