Calico Lobster

Look at this very rare calico lobster:

I remember reading previously about the rare blue lobsters being found but this calico one is even more rare than the blue ones.

I'm amazed that this one escaped notice for so long. One would think it might have been discovered even before reaching the lobster tank. Well, at least it didn't get into the kitchen.

@Thoul...yes, I agree, it seems they would have found this one a lot earlier given it's unique coloring. It should have stood out grandly.

@myau56...I've never eaten lobster either. I wonder what it tastes like?

If you ever had crab or shrimp, lobster has a somewhat similar flavor, especially to crab.

I'm living next to the sea but I am not very fond of all this food from the sea !

What an awesome animal. We have fresh-water crayfish that are very similar to lobsters in a creek not so far from my house. But you only see them during summer when the water is warm.

Very nice of the guy to let the museum have it. Might possibly have saved it's life.
