It probably has to do with stereotypes. I guess if Sega were translating for Italians, spaghetti and wine would be used? :lol:

So they were named something else and just ended up being translated to burgers and cola? Interesting. Even though I was 5 at the time I thought the name was a bit strange. :D

The original names, as I recall, are cultural references to products sold in Japan in the late 1980s. The Japanese name of the burgers was a play on the name of some kind of power bar, I believe.
