Between a full time job, part-time classes, and a social life, I just don't have as much time for things like drawing and gaming as I'd like. But during my vacation over the holidays, I had time to do some drawing...yay! I did three pieces, each as gifts for someone, so here's the first one. Three ravens in flight. I did the highlights with metallic pencils and and faint sky effect with...a wet paper towel. No joke. With the exception of the highlights, this is all charcoal pencil.

Happy people who have recieved those gifts are they are so beautiful : sure there is a lot of black, but that's great for me as I like this clour so much.
Same for me here : time is flowing down too quickly and I never have the time to do all I want to do (especially gaming and reading) : I'm sure it's the case for many people here...

What a wonderful gift and present for someone!! I know they loved each drawing. I'll have to remember that about the wet paper towel. I am not an artist but that sounds like a good idea to remember anyway.

It's great to be able to get back to a hobby like this during the holidays, isn't it? After being so busy, having an afternoon to draw must be relaxing.

I think this is the first time I've heard about the wet paper towel technique. How does that work?

For this, it seemed to work okay. Definitely something to play with more in the future.

Black wings, black tides.

Brace yourself, winter is coming.

Very impressive, as are pretty much all your birds.
