Bionic puppy

A puppy born without a foot is getting a new "bionic" foot:

I'm glad they could help the little fellow out. However, I don't quite understand how they can do it for "free". I mean, isn't this going to cost someone something...for supplies or surgery time, or something???

It’s good news for the dog for sure. Interesting as you said that the procedure will be free however.

Maybe they're able to write the costs off as some kind of research project or tax break. I'm curious as to exactly how that would work myself. It's all good for the dog from the sound of it, though.
