Apparently the 3DS version is available in Japan soon, so leaks galore coming, especially as some got their hands on it early.

Ness, yes, but I kinda knew he'd be in. Really no justification removing a character who's been in since the beginning. But if we're going to do so many clones (Pit/Dark Pit, Olimar/Alph, Fox/Falco, probably more I'm missing) why leave out Lucas?!

And Wolf, for that matter?

Alph is actually just an alternate costume for Olimar, from what I understand, but there are definitely a lot of people who don't understand the inclusion of Dark Pit. Sakurai really seems to like the series he works on. Granted, we don't know if Dark Pit will play anything like Pit, and Falco has already become more distinct from Fox since Brawl (in Brawl certainly he and Wolf were much more distinguished from Fox than Ryu and Ken were in the early Street Fighter games, most of Wolf's normals are completely distinct from Falco's and Fox's), so I'm guessing with Lucas it's a question of relevance. He was a long shot in Brawl to begin with, so a lot of people were speculating he'd be gone.

I'm really bummed about Wolf in particular, but also Ice Climbers and Lucas, but I'm hoping they'll make it in as DLC.

Yep, seemingly Wolf has indeed been cut. Augh, that kinda kills some of my enthusiasm, but it won't keep me from getting the game.

Princess Peach fans seem to be getting a raw deal here by being temporarily banned:

My friend was telling me about this, and I didn't even believe him. This is terrible for Peach players, they really need to fix this. It's hard enough playing Peach without getting banned!

Just had to post here and say I am officially hyped about Mewtwo and 8-player Smash. I was so hoping Mewtwo would make it back in, so I'm very happy about that, but I've been praying for 6-player Smash for a long time, so to see they actually did 8-player is a dream come true.

I never played any Super Smash Bros game before, but it would be cool if a Phantasy Star character was in one. But the Phantasy Star characters will probably never appear in anything again...

It's licensing issues and such. I have no idea who's got the licenses for the PS characters (Sega, presumably?), but Nintendo would need that for non-first party characters. They probably had to do a lot of legal wrangling to get Mega Man, Ryu and Pac-man in, and getting Snake in the last one required the same.
