I heard on the news today that the Philadelphia Eagles football team have hired former Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick, who recently got out of prison having served his time in regards to the dog fighting case, etc.
I was just wondering what everyone else thought about this football team hiring Vick.
Are you surprised that a team did hire Vick to play, and that Vick was hired so soon after being released.
Any other thoughts on this subject?

I guess it should be expected - he finished his sentence, or whatever, so now he gets to go back to his life and try to rebuild that. His sentence may have been too low, but now that he's served his time, some people are willing to give him a second chance. I was kind of surprised that any team would touch him, given the stigma now attached to his name. Maybe they just care more about the money and publicity.
